In cooperation with the city administration of Dêrik and the initiative “Make Rojava Green Again”, we had started the first collaborative ecological project in March 2019: In April 2020, the greening of a part of the river bank “Corniche” and the creation of neighbourhood gardens was successfully completed. The project was 75 per cent subsidised with money from the German government. Our association contributed 25 per cent through donations.
The greening of the riverbanks is to be continued in consultation with the city administration; however, it depends on future funding.
